A Divided Country: Religious Liberty and Atheistic Influences

In a country where tolerance is waning and where people of various religious and ethnic backgrounds undermine the founding moral structure, there is a hope that one day we can remain "one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."

Name:
Location: Washington, United States

I am an avid outdoors nut with a love for God. I spend as much time as possible outside hiking and mountain biking. I am active in youth ministry and am currently deciding between youth ministry and biology as a career path. I also have the most incredible people in my life. Most notably, my girlfriend, Jodi. It's definitely amazing how God can bless you so much through only one person. ;)

Supreme Court split ruling

The Supreme court ruled that two framed copies of The Ten Commandments went "too far" in endorsing religion. Click here to visit the article. They ruled however that the 6-foot-granite monument was O.K. to stay because it was "a legitimate tribute to the nation's legal and religious history". This what the court said concerning exhibits inside court houses: that "each exhibit demands scrutiny to determine whether it goes too far in amounting to a governmental promotion of religion". Some displays inside courthouses will be permissible. The court upheld the constitutionality of displaying the Ten Commandments on government land, however. So one by one, our religious independence is being taken from us in the name of liberty. Slowly, out from underneath the flag that was only possible due to religion, God is being removed. Our religious freedom, the reason we are here in the first place, is being stripped away. I know another blogger who wrote a MUCH more complete article and it would give me great satisfaction to know you went and read his as well. Click here. I also urge to to visit two links:

Again CT, great post.
After reading it, I'm thinking, is this the way that the Christians of the first century felt?
They were told that it was o.k. to worship there God, You can worship any of the gods that you want, BUT you must bow to Ceaser.
Are we as a nation, founded on the Christian beliefs, being led down the path of bowing to our Ceaser(Government)?
I pray that we are not!!

You can create a 'Hotmail' account for free and I can e-mail you a few things. If not, when I get a chance I will just post them on an old post on this site.
Later,
